Craig Morgan celebrated the 20th anniversary of one of his most iconic anthems with brothers Dan and Reid Isbell on a recent episode of God’s Country.
Morgan joined the brothers and podcast co-hosts, and the trio paid tribute to “Redneck Yacht Club.” The Tennessee-born country star released the single on his third studio album, My Kind of Livin’, in 2005. It’s remained one of the biggest hits of Morgan’s career, along with “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “International Harvester,” and more: “Side by side, there's five houseboat front porches/ Astroturf, lawn chairs and tiki torches/ Regular Joes rockin' the boat, that's us/ The Redneck Yacht Club.”
“This week Reid and Dan bring back a listener favorite, Craig Morgan, to God's Country! The guys dive in on Craig's newfound hobby of streaming ‘Call of Duty’ on twitch and how he continues to grow his fan base through the streaming platform and how it gives him a small glimpse from his time serving in the US Military. The three of them discuss grizzly bears in the west and Craig shares a close encounter he had at his camp in Alaska. Morgan discusses the struggles some military members encounter once they enter back into civilian life and how he hopes his off-grid camp in Alaska can continue to help some of these veterans. The episode ends with his powerhouse voice sharing a few gravorites and celebrating the 20th anniversary of Redneck Yacht Club.”
Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast in early January 2024. Some of the first guests to appear on the show include HARDY, Dustin Lynch, Colbie Caillat and others.
“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
