Trisha Yearwood shared a clip from a conversation she shared with reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson. The two powerhouse country stars delivered their unique artist-to-artist chat during the 2024 Country Radio Seminar (CRS) on Thursday (February 29) in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

On Instagram, Yearwood posted a photo on the first slide and a brief video on the second slide from The Artist Interview later that evening. She wrote in her caption that talking with the reigning Entertainer of the Year was “no big deal! [Lainey Wilson] I called my sister right after to tell her you’re pretty cool. Thank you for today!”

“I know that I’ve heard other people say this to you, but I really do believe that, I mean, country music is lucky to have you. And we are in your corner, and country music is in good hands,” Yearwood told Wilson. “I’m proud of what you’re doing — now we’re best friends, so we’re gonna have to hang out and talk about some more stuff. We got some things we gotta talk about.”

Wilson replied, “I’m not playin’. At times, I forgot anybody was here. …Thank you. This means the world to me. When I found out we were gonna be doing this, this is one of those ‘call back home’ moments for me.”

Yearwood and Wilson — who discussed their journeys to build their careers, their biggest musical influences and more throughout the interview — both have full schedules coming up in 2024. Yearwood’s husband, fellow country music megastar Garth Brooks, is opening a bar on Nashville’s Lower Broadway, complete with a menu inspired by Trisha’s Southern Kitchen and Yearwood’s cook books. Brooks and Yearwood revealed, hours before The Artist Interview, that they’ll offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the opening of Friends In Low Places in a new docuseries. The series will premiere on Prime Video on the same day as the bar’s grand opening, March 7.

I can’t imagine there being a Garth honky-tonk without Trisha Food!” Yearwood recently said in a statement. “I’m honored to get to be a part of something so exciting and so big and to work alongside the love of my life doing it. The whole team at Friends In Low Places is incredible!”

“We started down this road fueled by passion, dedication, and a shared vision,” she said in a statement of the upcoming docuseries. “I’m really proud of the team that has built the Friends Bar and Honky-Tonk. We are excited to share the culmination of everyone’s efforts. It’s even bigger than we dreamed!”

Wilson released “Country’s Cool Again” in mid-February an anthem written by the iconic ‘Heart Wranglers,’ Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson, and Aslan Freeman, Wilson’s band leader, and produced by Grammy winner Jay Joyce. The anthem embraces the resurgence of the country genre and lifestyle, and comes months after Wilson confirmed in an interview that she’s woking on her next full-length album following her award-winning Bell Bottom Country. “Country’s Cool Again” inspired the title of Wilson’s nationwide headlining tour, which kicks off in Nashville in late May, after nearly a dozen global tour dates. Wilson’s international tour begins this month in Melbourne, Australia.

Wilson is also nominated at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, alongside other heavy-hitters in the genre like Luke CombsJelly Roll and others. See the full list of country artists nominated here. Fans across the country will be able to watch the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards live as the show will be airing live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, April 1st from 8pm-10pm ET live/PT tape-delayed on FOX. The event will also be broadcast on iHeartRadio stations nationwide and on the free iHeartRadio app.
