A woman accused of shoplifting from a Kohl's in San Diego, California, is in the hospital after getting struck by a car. Authorities said the 39-year-old woman, who has not been identified, was confronted by a loss prevention officer inside the department store as she tried to leave.
The suspect fled from the store and as she tried to cross the street, she was hit by a 2011 Kia Soul, driven by a 28-year-old woman. The suspected shoplifter suffered a broken pelvis and was taken to the hospital. The driver stayed at the scene and was not injured in the accident.
Officials did not say what the woman was accused of stealing from the store, or what charges she was facing.
