White Woman Pulls Gun On Black Teens Raising Money For Football Program

A white woman from Arkansas was arrested after she pulled on a gun on four black teenagers who were trying to raise money for their school's football program. Police say 46-year-old Jerri Kelly called 911 when she witnessed them going door-to-door in her neighborhood.

Kelly decided not to wait for the police to arrive and went outside to confront the teens. She pulled out her gun and ordered them to get on the ground. When officers arrived, they found Kelly standing over them, holding her gun.

The officers told the group to get off the ground, and the teens explained that they were selling discount cards for local restaurants. The officers drove the kids home and launched an investigation into what happened. A few days later they arrested Kelly and charged her with four counts of aggravated assault, false imprisonment and endangering a minor.

The terrifying incident left the group of teens traumatized. The grandmother of one of the kids told WREG that she could not believe what happened.

"My grandson said, 'Grandma, if she'd had shot me, I had made my peace with God," she told the news station.

Wynne Superintendent Carl Easley says the district is reviewing its fundraising programs and may ban students from going door-to-door.
