Gabby Petito was strangled to death.
That's the finding of a coroner in Wyoming, who made his report public today (Tuesday). Dr. Brent Blue also said that her body had been in the wilderness for three to four weeks prior to its discovery on September 19th. That puts her death at the end of August. Her fiancee, Brian Laundrie, returned home to Florida without her on September 1st.
Laundrie disappeared soon after, and has presumably been on the run since Petito's family reported her missing on September 11th.
