Man Proposes During NEOWISE Comet Display

Talk about unique proposal, how bout getting asked during and event that only happens once every 6,800 years?

A man in New York did just that, when asking his fiancee the big question. John Nicotera set up the big moment at Crater Lake National Park in Oregon originally, but the trip got cancelled because of the Pandemic. He called an audible and decided the best moment was during the NEOWISE comet event in the skies.

That type of space display is only seen once ever 6,800 years. It just occurred July 18th, and Nicotera (a self-proclaimed Space nerd), took his shot. He enlisted photographer Tim Leach to help out and capture some amazing images of him popping the question.

John was looking at images Tim just took of the comet and whispered to the photog, ‘I’m going to propose, can you get a photo?’, Leach wrote on his website.“The result was a slightly out-of-focus, noisy image that was a perfect moment.”

She said yes! What a cool moment too!
