Carrie Underwood 'Pumped' Her Way To CMT Music Awards

Cody Alan dubbed Carrie Underwood the most “Winningest Winner Ever” backstage at the CMT Music Awards after the 36-year-old mother of two shocked CMT by returning to Bridgestone Arena after her performance at the Nashville Parthenon.

Bridgestone Arena to the Nashville Parthenon is 2.5 miles door to door. On a regular day in Nashville, the short trek will take 11 minutes of drive time. On CMT Music Award show days, the “short trek” can easily turn into a 45-minute drive.

That didn’t stop Carrie, who after smashing her powerful performance at the city park took a motorcade back to the arena to meet up with Cody Alan, Katie Cook, and CMT’s Hot 20 cameras.

Cody greeted Carrie with a sincere smile. “You just went through traffic all across town, and traffic is terrible right now! Thank you for coming all the way back here.”

“I was pumping on the way here. Gotta do mom things,” smiled Carrie. “Just gotta get back here, so you make it work.”

We can all agree that this global superstar, mother of two, award-winning entertainer knows how to “make it work.”

Join Carrie this weekend on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown where she reveals to Cody Alan and Katie Cook all the details of her CMT performance and what she would change about her acceptance speech.

Hint: It’s not related to the mic issues she experienced.
