The "White Pants Rule" - Why Do I Feel Guilty When I Don't Follow It?

Today I wore white jeans for the time this year. It's after Easter so it's 100% ok to rock white pants. Actually, it's perfectly acceptable to rock white pants year-round if you want! All the bloggers do it. Even though I know the "White Pant Rule" is out of date, I still followed it. Why?

White Pant Rule: No white (pants, shoes, or belts ---nothing white from the waist down) before Easter, and no white after Labor Day.

I wore white jeans after Labor Day last year! Rebel, I know. But if I'm being honest with myself, I felt guilty for breaking the dumb "rule."

Am I the only person who feels guilty when they wear white before Easter and after Labor Day?
