5 Wedding Venues in NC You Need To Know

A girlfriend of mine got engaged over the weekend (yay Crystal and Daniel!) and it got me thinking about the mass undertaking of planning a wedding.  So I started doing some research and came up with a list of some of the most beautiful wedding venues in NC.  It's not all of them by any means, but if you're getting married, here's a jumping off point!

1) The Merrimon-Wynne House - Raleigh

The historic Merrimon-Wynne House was built in 1876 and restored to it's grandeur in 2013.  You can say your "I Do's" on the beautifully kept grounds and have your reception in the brand new carriage house, which just opened last spring.  If you're looking for southern charm with city convenience, you've found it.

2) Highgrove Estate - Fuquay-Varina

This seven-acre venue overlooks Lake Laurel just outside of Raleigh.  The charm of this venue is not only it's beautiful structure or the fact that it can accommodate 35 - 200 guests, but that it's a one-stop-shop with on-site catering, an Event Coordinator, and all decor with hundreds of options and styles available.

3) Graylyn Estate - Winston-Salem

The 55-acre estate just outside of Winston-Salem will make you feel like you're getting married at a castle.  Plus, it has several locations on the estate to accommodate intimate gatherings or massive weddings, plus your guests can stay right on the property.

4) Twickenham House - Jefferson

If you love the mountains, this could be your ideal wedding spot.  The photos are breath-taking no matter what season you pick. This large, Old English Manor is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and has a spa, overnight accommodations, and incredible views no matter where you are on the 700-acre estate.

5) Shoals Club - Bald Head Island

If you're more of a beach wedding couple, The Shoals Club on Bald Head Island is worth a look. There are numerous locations for your reception and ceremony depending on size, and you don't need a lot in the department of decor with the ocean as your backdrop.
