Bobby Gives Parenting Advice to Listeners Calling From the Delivery Room Waiting for Their New Baby!!
We got one of the sweetest calls we've had in a long time when listeners Oscar and Megan checked in from a place we've never taken a live phone call before... the delivery room.
Seriously!!
Listeners Oscar and Megan called in from the hospital while they were waiting to welcome their first baby, Baby Jack. Not after the baby was born. Not on the way to the hospital. They were literally sitting in the delivery room when Oscar called the show!
Megan was already in labor, hooked up to IVs, and waiting for things to progress while Oscar gave us the play-by-play. When Bobby asked how she was feeling, Megan admitted she was both excited and nervous about what was coming next.
That led Bobby to share some of his own memories from becoming a first-time parent.
He talked about how much he learned during Caitlin's pregnancy, including discovering way more about centimeters than he ever expected! He also joked about sleeping on the terrible hospital couch before nurses suddenly woke him up to announce it was finally time to meet his daughter.

While Oscar and Megan admitted they hadn't made one yet, Bobby pulled up the actual playlist he and Caitlin listened to in the hospital. It featured everything from Brooks & Dunn and Counting Crows to Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Dua Lipa, and Taylor Swift. The most meaningful song was "Neon Moon," which Bobby said was intentionally playing when his son was born because Ronnie Dunn performed the song at his wedding.
The conversation got even more heartfelt when Bobby shared his biggest piece of advice for Oscar.
As a new dad himself, Bobby explained that in those first days, the baby is going to need Mom more than anyone else. Instead of putting pressure on himself to instantly bond with the baby, Bobby encouraged Oscar to focus on supporting Megan through every part of the experience.
"Your job is to be there for Megan," Bobby told him. "Megan's job is to be there for Jack."
The couple also revealed the story behind Baby Jack's name. Oscar shared that they're huge hockey fans and chose the name in part because of New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes. After introducing Megan to hockey when they first got together, it became something they bonded over as a couple, eventually inspiring the name of their future son.
Before hanging up, Bobby asked the couple to promise they'd call the show back after Baby Jack arrives so everyone can hear how everything went.
Now we're all waiting on an update.
