LeAnn Rimes postponed additional performance dates as she remains on doctor-ordered vocal rest, she confirmed in a new health update on Tuesday afternoon (May 12).

Rimes, 43, wrote in a statement on her Instagram story: “After a follow up visit with my doctor, she has strongly advised me to take an additional week for vocal rest while I heal from this sickness. This sadly means I can no longer perform this weekend in Washington and Wilmington. These shows are NOT cancelled and I am so excited to see you at the rescheduled dates.

“All tickets remain valid,” Rimes clarified. She followed up on Wednesday (May 13), sharing that the Washington, D.C. show will take place on August 14, and the Wilmington, North Carolina show will take place on August 15. “Please contact your point of purchase with questions or for refunds if you can no longer make it.

“I can’t wait to be healthy and back on stage, making new memories with you! I’ll see you in August!” Rimes wrote.

The Grammy-winning artist opened up about her “severe illness” on April 29. She said at the time that she’s “truly heartbroken to have to reschedule and I am so very grateful for your kindness and continued support as I recover. I look forward to bring back on stage and seeing you very soon.” Rimes postponed two shows in Spokane, and Seattle, Washington. On May 1, Rimes shared a new health update, explaining she’d been diagnosed with “Covid leading to severe laryngitis.” She went on to reschedule performances in Waukegan, Illinois, and Wilmington, Ohio. Rimes said “it breaks my heart,” but “this is sadly out of my hands until I get this under control.”

Rimes is celebrating 30 years of Blue this year. The 9-1-1: Nashville star was 13 years old when she released the album in July 1996, and she’d turned 14 by the time she made history as the youngest individual Grammy winner in 1997. Rimes took home the Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance awards. Rimes previously told Entertainment Tonight of Blue’s 30th anniversary, “I look back at that. It’s so nostalgic. I’ve been fortunate to have, not one song like that, but multiple in my career. And that just — it will never get old. It will never get old.”
