Where does North Carolina rank among U.S. states the best and worst drivers?
A study conducted by QuoteWizard.com ranked Tennessee 38th among states with worst drivers nationally. The study analyzed more than 2 million insurance quotes and built a composite score based on four incident factors: accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs and citations.
States considered to have the worst drivers had the highest rates of each incident factor, while states with the best drivers had the lowest rates of each incident factor.
Fortunately, North Carolina didn't rank in the top-5 for any of the four categories. Rhode Island topped the rankings for most accident-prone states; California was No. 1 for most lead-footed states; Wyoming ranked first among drunkest-driving states; and Alabama topped the list of worst driving habits based on the most citations given.
