Domino's Will Give Away 10 Million Slices Of Pizza Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Domino's Pizza Reports Quarterly Earnings Surpassing Expectations

While many of us are able to do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by simply staying home, others are on the frontlines of this crisis doing their best to keep the rest of us safe, healthy and fed. From nurses and doctors in our hospitals to cashiers at our local grocery stores, Domino's announced they'll be doing their part to support these essential workers during this difficult time.

According to a press release, Domino's will donate 10 million slices of pizza to those who need it most amid the COVID-19 outbreak. The new initiative is called Feed The Need and sees Domino's partnering with its many franchisees across the country. Starting this week, the fast food pizza chain will donate pizza to hospitals, medical centers, grocery stores and more as the franchisees see fit.

"We have a long history of feeding people during times of crisis and uncertainty. When we were looking at how we could help, we knew we could use the reach of our national brand to make a difference in thousands of local neighborhoods," said Domino's CEO and president of the Americas Russell Weiner: "We have franchisees and company-owned stores all over the country already doing amazing work in their communities and we know that by amplifying those efforts together we will be able to help even more people who are struggling right now."

Domino's has more than 6,000 locations across the United States. Since each location knows their community and its needs best, each Domino's franchise will determine where to send their share of the 10 million free slices. Some Domino's franchises have even pledged to do more than their fair share and donate extra pizzas in addition to the ones provided by Domino's HQ. Over the course of Feed The Need's run, Domino's will highlight their employees heartwarming deeds on their blog.
