Even though thereâs no doubt she could rock it, country star, Carrie Underwood, recently shared with People that youâll never catch her in an âitsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, triangle-shaped bikini. Instead, she prefers to stick to the more âsportyâ bathing suit styles.
The âLove Winsâ singer shares, âI feel like with swimwear, growing up in my teenage years, early 20s, I couldnât wear a triangle swimsuit.â Even today, she adds, âI canât do it, itâs not going to happen. It would never have happened.â
The discussion stems from Underwoodâs new Calia swim collection launched on July 16 at an event in the Hamptons, New York. The collection features a wide variety of pieces described by Underwood as âpretty functionalâ and inspired by years of trial and error experiences with swimwear.
Underwood shares, âIâve had women come up to me and be like, âThank you! I can take my teenage daughter and we can get things that are cute but also appropriate for her and for me.â She continues, âAnd I think of myself running after my crazy kids and being at hotel pools, wanting to be cute but also not wanting to worry about things. Everything stays where itâs supposed to!â
Underwood might not be the biggest swimmer herself, but her 4-year-old son, Isaiah, is. âMy son is a fish, he loves being in the water.â Underwood finds much more job in âbeing by the water or on the water, not so much in it. But itâs nice watching him, maybe having a glass of wine by the pool.â
Hm, glass of wine by the pool? Sounds good to me. Underwood's new Calia swim collection is available now. You can check it out here on the Calia online store or the line is also available at Dick's Sporting Goods.
