The Detroit Tigers are increasing security as you walk into Comerica this season, something you'll find at all MLB parks across the nation.

Leave yourself plenty of time if you're going to a game -- that's the best advice. You'll walk through metal detectors and be subject to a bag check. Here's what's NOT allowed in the ballpark:

  • Hairspray, mace, pepper spray or anything in an aerosol can
    Animals
Bags bigger than 16" by 16" by 8"
Baseball bats (not even the small ones)
    Beach balls (or anything inflatable)
Beverages (unless it's juice for kids)
Bottles (unless it's a factory sealed clear bottle of unflavored water)
    Brooms
    Fireworks
    Knives (weapons of any kind)
    Fishing poles (????)
    Nets
    Framed back (Booooo!)
    Packs
    Frisbees
    Hard Sided coolers
    Skateboards
    Squirt guns
    Non-baseball related signs
    Sticks
