Taylor Swift hasn’t always been so photogenic.

This from the country megastar herself, who tells Teen Vogue she isn’t too fond of pictures of herself back in high school.

“My high school pictures are, like...tragic,” she says. “My style forever was going to be cornrows. I took my school picture with the cornrows. It really thrust me into what it’s like to not have anywhere to sit in the cafeteria.”

Taylor’s come a long way since her cornrow style, though.

The “Red” singer speaks fondly a recent gown she calls the most favorite she’s ever worn.

“I got to wear this Oscar de la Renta gown to the Met Ball,” she says. “It was ballet pink, it had a bow in the back, it had a long train. It was so classic and simple.”

Next on the schedule for Taylor is a performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in September.
