JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) _ A Jacksonville woman has been charged in the death of a child who drowned last month.
The Daily News of Jacksonville reported that 27-year-old Amanda Gayle Reed is charged with involuntary manslaughter, negligent child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Jacksonville police say Reed is accused of failing to supervise a child in an area with a swimming pool which led to the drowning.
Twenty-month-old Mercadiez Kohlinda Reed died May 11.
Amanda Reed pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter last year in the death of 19-month-old Sadie L. Gates. Authorities said Reed was babysitting when the child left home and drowned in a drainage ditch.
Reed was sentenced to three years of probation.
It was not clear if she has an attorney on the new charges.
